Citizens are tired of the games the major parties are playing. They are ready to see a more collaborative legislature. As a third party candidate I believe I will be able to work with both parties to find creative solutions that benefit all Kansans.
I believe the three most pressing issues facing Kansas are: Cannabis, Women's Rights, and Taxes. I intend to work to get a cannabis bill finally passed, protect women's rights wherever possible, and to look for tax breaks that will truly benefit every day Kansas citizens (not large corporations).
I would love to see the state legislature website updated with a more interactive tool for tracking specific bills and causes. Furthermore, I'd work to end the gut and go process. It is sneaky and not transparent at all. We should adopt a better process for replacing bills than simply re-using names and numbers.
I don't personally see a problem with the current election and voting system. I have worked as a poll worker for a couple years and I am confident in the process, at least in Sedgwick County. I would be on the look out for any changes that would make voting harder for citizens.
