My background in the criminal justice field (31 years) and teaching career (17 years) prior to being elected four years ago prepared me to handle a wide number of issues. As a government teacher I also was well readied to handle the legal aspects of government.
Personal property tax relief is critical, despite some tax relief in 2024. We must change our appraisal method so that fair market values are set for homes. A second issue is supporting our education structure to prepare our students, while maintaining needed academic levels. Finally developing commerce in the state to retain our population and provide good jobs.
The state does a good job of daily publishing information and providing videeo of all meetings. Possibly a media campaign would help those not aware of the possibilities would be helpful.
I do not support "gur & go" which is often done late in the session and without time to research what is substituted.
Support our current election laws.
