I have served in many political offices and understand the importance of communication and consensus building. I have lived in my district for over 45 years and work everyday to serve my constituents. I listen, study and read the legislation to make sure that it is the best for all Kansans.
Continuing full funding for education and special education. A new school finance formula is due to come out in the next couple of years and we need to make sure that we continue to provide the best education for all of our children. No vouchers! Medicaid Expansion and mental health issues need to be addressed. We have hospitals that are closing and no close facilities available for our rural area. We have people dying every year because of lack of resources (1100 every year). I will continue to work tirelessly to address this issue. Women’s healthcare rights also fall in this area. Legislators do not belong in the bedroom or doctor’s offices. Economic development and infrastructure. We must build on new business to our state for new tax
There needs to be better transparency to allow the public to follow along in the process. Some have been addressed but they still circumvent the ability to research and follow the legislation. I am not a fan of gut and go, as it does not clearly express the true title and preparers of the policy.
I believe we have one of the best and safest voting systems in the country.
