I am the best candidate for Brooklyn Center City Council because of my deep community roots, commitment to inclusivity, solution-driven approach and clear vision for the city's future. As a long-term resident since 1999, I understand the community's needs. My leadership as Housing Commission Chair and Finance Commission member demonstrates my ability to make informed decisions. I am dedicated to inclusivity, economic growth, safety, and comprehensive housing solutions. Valuing diverse perspectives, I will collaborate to make informed decisions. I promise to be honest, ethical, and dependable in my actions, ensuring transparency in communication and business practices.
I will support public safety by fostering collaboration between law enforcement and residents to build trust and ensure safety for all, govern with common sense solutions by implementing transparent, integrity-focused approaches that genuinely benefit the city and encourage diverse development by supporting a mix of businesses to enrich the economic landscape and unite the community, celebrating diversity as a strength. These priorities aim to create a safer, more efficient, and inclusive city.
I will engage and represent our diverse community through city council meetings, surveys, and open forums, providing transparent updates on city initiatives and decisions, collaborating with community leaders and organizations, and addressing the unique needs of different groups. This approach fosters inclusivity in decision-making processes, ensuring all voices are heard and valued.
I believe local government transparency and accountability is vital for citizen trust. I will ensure residents know what happens by being open, responsible, and honest in communication. I will ensure information is clear, make data available, and ensure it is well-organized, up-to-date, and accurate. I will be transparent in finances and insist on resident satisfaction surveys to gather feedback and inform future planning.

I’m not a career politician or an elitist but rather a citizen who is deeply concerned about how our choices in the here and now will impact generations to come. I was the first person to file for municipal public office in Brooklyn Center for 2024, the first to have public platforms for constituents to engage with me, and I want to be the first to get to work for you. I want to put you at the center in Brooklyn Center and make your voice heard again. I want to work for the interests of all residents, not just the loudest individuals or special interest groups. I have a broad range of professional skills and experience that will help me serve you well. I am a good listener, hard-working, an innovator, and have a strong moral compass.
1. Public Safety - Crime is trending upward everywhere. People should be able to feel safe in their homes and in the streets. 2. Police Department Staffing - Though great strides have been made, there is more work to be done in order to have a roster of qualified and experienced police officers. A fully staffed PD allows for community engagement which is key to crime prevention. 3. Divided Leadership - The Council, City Manager, and city staff often seem to be at odds with each other.
I will engage with and represent all members of our diverse community by being responsive to emails and phone calls—something that seems to be a struggle for the current Council. I will also work to build strong relationships with community organizations and leaders to better understand and address the unique needs of our diverse population. Inclusivity and transparency will be at the core of my approach, ensuring that all members of our community feel valued and represented.
I will ensure transparency and accountability by advocating for detailed public reports on city projects and finances. I will push for regular audits and support measures that enhance community participation, such as open forums and surveys. Additionally, I will work with my fellow Council members to strengthen oversight mechanisms and ensure all actions are clearly communicated to the public. I will also encourage feedback from residents to continuously improve our processes.
