As the fastest growing county in Minnesota, Carver County needs leadership to prepare for the anticipated additional 50% growth in the next 10 years. We need to create a shared vision for this future to: 1) Create efficiencies by taking a hard look at where resources are spent, seeking areas to streamline and ensuring there is a return on investment for taxpayer dollars. 2) Make Carver County an easier place to do business, that will provide tax revenue, services and jobs to our community. 3) Prepare for future housing, transportation and infrastructure needs in partnership with our cities to meet the needs all residents and families.
It is crucial to protect and strengthen the security of the fairness of our election processes. Carver County is required to administer all Federal, State and Local elections within the county, report election results, oversee voter registration for all eligible voters, and follow all election laws. Actively building awareness and understanding of the laws and safeguards, as well as accurate reporting of results and challenge options are vital to eliminating barriers in the voting process.
Mental Health is often the tipping point to relationship breakdowns, job loss, food insecurity, homelessness and sometimes crime. The challenge is to craft solutions to support people with identification of and remedies to mental health issues before they experience a full-blown crisis. It is imperative that we partner with existing agencies to create public/private partnerships that will expand our services to include proactive mental wellness programs that support families and care givers.
