Personal Pronouns She/Her
The environment and housing are important issues in my district, I was on the Lake Superior Advisory Board for 2 years that included Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Canada to protect the Great Lakes. As a member of the Harland Planning Commission I learned how PUD/TIFs can be used to address housing in communities.
For young families struggling to afford housing, expanding the child tax credit will help them to have more income for their housing costs. The elderly are facing rising rent and property taxes making it more difficult for them to remain in their homes. Accepting federal Medicaid monies and releasing state funds to communities so they aren't forced to raise property taxes.
I would like to see a permanent fair maps process where a non-partisan commission draws the district lines every 10 years.
Legislative funding could be set aside to educate the public about the threats to the sustainability our environment.
I would cap voucher funds. Schools receiving voucher funds should be held to the same standards of accountability as public schools.
