WisEye Interview (If Available)

My priorities as a representative will focus on fully funding emergency services and schools, supporting veterans, advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights, championing blue-collar workers, reinforcing unions, protecting reproductive rights, and promoting agriculture. As a Navy veteran, I understand the unique challenges faced by our service members and will work to improve their access to healthcare and job opportunities. I am committed to fostering inclusivity and equality for all, ensuring our LGBTQIA+ community feels safe and supported.

With a background in working alongside blue-collar workers, I will fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, and stronger unions. I believe in reproductive freedom and will protect the rights of individuals to make decisions about their bodies. Agriculture is the backbone of our district, and I will support our farmers with policies that promote sustainability and economic growth.
The most pressing housing-related issue in Wisconsin is the affordability and availability of quality housing. Many families are struggling to find homes that fit their budgets, especially in rural areas. To address this, I would support policies that increase the supply of affordable housing through incentives for developers to build low-cost units and renovate existing structures. Additionally, I would advocate for expanding state funding for housing assistance programs and supporting first-time homebuyer initiatives. Strengthening tenant protections to ensure fair treatment and safe living conditions is also crucial. By tackling these issues, we can ensure that everyone in Wisconsin has access to a stable and affordable place to call home.
To ensure fair representation for voters, I believe the legislature should establish an independent redistricting commission before the next national census. This commission should be non-partisan and include representatives from diverse communities to reflect the state's demographics accurately. The commission should use transparent criteria focused on maintaining community integrity, competitiveness, and equal population distribution. Public input and regular reviews should be integral to the process to enhance accountability and trust. By removing partisan influence from redistricting, we can create fair and equitable districts that truly represent the people of Wisconsin, ensuring every vote counts equally.
To promote environmental sustainability in Wisconsin, I would support initiatives that encourage renewable energy adoption, such as providing incentives for solar and wind energy projects. Expanding state funding for conservation programs that protect our natural resources, like forests and waterways, is essential. I would advocate for sustainable agriculture practices that reduce environmental impact while supporting our farmers. Promoting energy efficiency in homes and businesses through grants and tax credits can also make a significant difference. Additionally, investing in public transportation and green infrastructure can reduce our carbon footprint. These initiatives will help ensure a healthy environment for future generations.
To ensure our schools have the resources to improve outcomes for all students, including those with disabilities, I will advocate for reversing the damaging effects of ACT 10 by restoring collective bargaining rights for teachers. This will help attract and retain high-quality educators. I will push for increased state funding to address the chronic underfunding of Wisconsin schools, ensuring equitable distribution of resources. Investing in special education programs is crucial, and I will support increased funding and training for educators to better serve students with disabilities. Additionally, I will promote smaller class sizes, updated learning materials, and enhanced mental health services to create a supportive learning environment for every student. By prioritizing education funding and teacher support, we can provide Wisconsin students with the high-quality education they deserve.
