As a trusted leader in the State Attorney’s Office and the community, I uphold the highest ethical standards with fairness, honesty, & justice. My collaborative approach fosters strong relationships with colleagues, law enforcement, and stakeholders, ensuring efficient case handling to achieve the best results. I balance compassion with integrity, recognizing the human impact of legal cases.
Managing large caseloads requires strategy and organization. As a unit chief and Executive Leadership Team member, I prioritize high-priority and time-sensitive matters, ensure victims are contacted, return calls, and meet filing deadlines. I rely on my ability to make swift, sound decisions to resolve cases.
As an Assistant State Attorney, and Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit, I have tried over 100 cases. This experience has prepared me to serve as our next State Attorney. Further, supervising multiple attorneys and units as a member of the State Attorney’s Executive Leadership Team, I have the passion and leadership skills necessary to lead this pivotal office in the community where I was born and raised.
To improve retention and recruitment, we need better pay and greater incentives to attract top talent. Investing in case management technology and a data analyst will streamline our case review, while improving our data collection and performance measurement. I'll also work to create a specialized Felony Domestic Violence Division to address family violence issues and reduce escalated incidents.

I intend to serve with independence, integrity and common sense. America is and must remain a nation where all citizens are subject to the rule of law. As the only Non-partisan candidate in this race, I will stop attempts by both major parties to continue to politicize the justice system.
All attorneys on staff will share in the primary responsibility we owe the public: securing justice for victims. Everyone, including me, will try cases. Seasoned prosecutors will serve as co-counsel to younger ones. I will also seek input from judges on how to improve the office’s Criminal Division.
One of my most meaningful qualifications for this job is having tried 100+ cases as a prosecutor as well as 100+ cases as a defense attorney. Experience representing both sides sets me apart from others and equips me with a valuable skillset I’ll use to win cases and keep us safe.
The courts could increase efficiency by focusing on judicial matters rather than political pursuits. Less time meddling with reproductive rights, for example, means more time trying criminal cases. Prosecutors must also sometimes apply greater discretion so as to prioritize the most serious cases.

While the State Attorney does not regularly appear in court, I will not hesitate to do so when appropriate. I and every Assistant State Attorney will be well-trained, prepared, and accurate with the court when we appear.
The State Attorney's office handles a large number of cases and every case will be properly assigned to an Assistant State Attorney. The State Attorney's office will work vigorously to seek prompt justice on behalf of victims and for the community.
I have tried numerous cases before a tier of fact as a state and federal prosecutor, and in private practice. Moreover, I teach trial advocacy to law students and experienced attorney's at the University of Miami School of Law, the National Trial Advocacy College at the University of Virginia School of Law, and wrote The Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Cross-Examination (Skyhorse Publishing).
While the State Attorney is not responsible for administering court's, everyone in the State Attorney's office will be prepared when appearing in court, will be candid with the court, and will not engage in any frivolous conduct. Our goal is achieve a prompt and just resolution of every case we handle on behalf of the community.
