Campaign Statement I'm a commonsense conservative who believes in letting the voters (not the party machine) choose our candidates.
Yes. I served as a Precinct Committeeman in Kootenai County for most of 2012 to 2019. I know many of the current members of the central committee (KCRCC) and have seen firsthand how they operate.
Priority #1 as a Precinct Committeeman is working to get Republicans elected. It traditionally was a low-profile position that didn't set policy or tell the voters or any elected officials what to do. The current KCRCC has positioned themselves between elected officials and the voters. By setting up a "ranked and vetted" endorsement system, they set up a party machine. Over time, candidates realize they will have a hard time winning without this endorsement, and many choose not to run. The KCRCC has has adopted Chicago-style machine politics. I believe GOP voters should get to choose the candidates, and Precinct Committeemen then work to help those candidates win.
I was born and raised here, but left for a while for school and work. I returned to Kootenai County in 2009 and registered then.
I've been a conservative since I was in middle school, and a Republican voter since the first time I could vote at age 18. I've been a Republican voter for nearly 30 years. I've volunteered for countless Republican candidates, and I was the Executive Director for the state party in 2008. My Republican credentials stack up to anyone's, and I'm proud of that. To any Republican living in Precinct 410, I'd be grateful to have your vote!
