In the past year, valuable time has been squandered on bills fueled by emotional grandstanding, diverting attention from critical issues like education, healthcare, homelessness, growth, transportation, and the environment. As a State Legislator, I pledge to focus on the big picture and urge my constituents to do the same. I will fight for our public school funding. We cannot allow public schools to suffer while diverting resources to private and religious entities. I will promote women's healthcare that empowers women to make informed decisions about their well-being and that they have access to respectful healthcare services. We have pressing issues like growth, transportation, and homelessness that need solutions.
I bring leadership experience to this office having served in various capacities within our community. These include serving as president of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce and as Lt. Governor for the Meridian Kiwanis. I was chair of the Meridian Library bond election and served on the board for the Department of Environmental Quality. I now serve on the Meridian Library Foundation board and as Precinct Captain for District 21 in 2022-2024 . My contributions to Meridian have been recognized through recognition as Meridian’s Woman of the Year and Small Business Person of the Year. These diverse experiences have equipped me with the necessary tools to effectively represent District 21 as your State Representative.
Our current legislative landscape requires meaningful change to enhance the productivity of both the House and Senate. Critical issues such as Idaho's rapid growth and the high cost of living that have families struggling to maintain a decent quality of life need solutions. Let’s keep healthcare affordable and accessible for all Idahoans and address the challenges facing women's healthcare and change laws that have eliminated women’s choices. Let's adequately fund our public schools to accommodate growth and address necessary repairs. By tackling these pressing issues with innovative solutions, we can create a brighter and more equitable future for all Idahoans.
Absolutely! We're witnessing a decline in accessible healthcare options and an erosion of women's rights. It's troubling that legislators presume to dictate what's best for women's health, ignoring their autonomy and expertise in their own well-being. The laws enacted thus far are reckless and put women's lives at risk. We are losing many healthcare providers as they move out of state due to the new healthcare laws. It's time to hear women's voices and address their legitimate concerns by restoring their rights to make informed choices about their healthcare. Let's listen to women and empower them to take charge of their own health decisions.
After over two decades as a resident of District 21, I'm stepping up to run for office because I see pressing challenges that demand action. With proven leadership skills, I'm committed to driving results for our community. It's time to break free from the status quo and bring in meaningful change. Together, let's prioritize addressing the real issues at hand, putting an end to government overreach and focusing on solutions rather than creating unnecessary problems.
