Biographical Information

What are your qualifications for the position you are seeking?

If elected, what is your top priority when in office?

Describe your background. I am a Kokomo native. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and have used that background to intern at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, to teach work in the Muncie Public Library system where I taught an after school program for at-risk kids. I then moved on to teaching Kindergarten at Elwood Haynes Elementary and Northwestern Elementary. I left teaching to have my own family and ended up managing the Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market for 10 years during which time I served on the National Farmers’ Market Coalition Board of Directors. I now own the Radish Market & Cafe, a store located in downtown Kokomo that specialized in local food and other locally-made good stuff.
Occupation Owner of Radish Market & Cafe
I’ve been serving our community for over a decade, first as a teacher at Elwood Haynes Elementary, then as manager of the Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market, an organization I built from a very small grassroots market to a successful community asset. In 2022, I opened Radish Market & Cafe, an award-winning small local grocery and cafe to eliminate the food desert in downtown Kokomo while helping local farmers and entrepreneurs.

I’ve had the opportunity to get to know many Howard County residents from all walks of life. I have seen their struggles and triumphs and know the many challenges they face, and I’m ready to take on those challenges with the same grit, determination, and passion that have made me a successful community servant.

My goal is to lift up my community by working to provide equitable opportunities and resources for all of our residents, by including everyone at the table to address our present and future community needs, and by making sure Howard County is a healthy and safe place to live.

I am running for county council to keep our community moving in a positive direction economically, socially, and environmentally by focusing on expanding opportunities for families and small business owners, on addressing the many needs of our community-both right now and in the future, and on improving the health and safety of all our neighbors.
