Slow down government growth & spending, reduce dependency on federal dollars. More government growth & spending means more taxes. Our spending went from $9.5B in 2020 to $13.9B in 2024, a 47% increase! 40% is federal funding! We are almost a welfare state ourselves! Stop the spending acceleration (‘take the foot of the gas pedal’), assess where cuts can be made. Get rid of non-essential ‘wants and desires’.

Public education. We can’t even meet our proficiency targets in English & Math, which are in the 60% range. The 60% “target” means we accept 4 out of 10 kids that can’t read or do math. No wonder people want alternatives to public schools! I hope to determine why Public Ed isn’t performing and start making corrective actions.
A lifetime of experience. I was born and raised on a farm in Rigby and am a 5th generation Idahoan. I have been married to my wonderful tolerant wife for over 44 years and have 2 amazing children, and one wonderful daughter-in-law.

I had a successful 40-year career at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) primarily as a project/program manager. I am an expert in spent nuclear fuel and special nuclear material management. I am very adept at resolving very complex and technical issues. I’m well versed in how government agencies and bureaucracies function, and how to achieve success in them.

I founded the organization Stand Up For Idaho in 2021 and have become very familiar with the challenges/threats Idaho is facing.
The greatest challenges/threats are what is happening at the federal level. Government overreach, corruption, reckless spending, inflation, taxes, open borders/illegal immigration, the Cartel, gangs, fentanyl, etc., etc. Idaho isn’t immune from any of this and our rural communities are most vulnerable.

Idaho’s government growth & spending needs to be brought under control and we need to reduce our dependency on federal dollars.

We must truly look at our public education system to determine why it is not performing and start making the necessary corrective actions.

We need to face the fact that fentanyl, the Cartel, gangs, illegal immigration, etc. are problems in Idaho and figure out ways to address them.

I am pro-life and am adamantly against abortion for convenience, the ‘sake of science’, or most anything else. Many people cannot have children and would love to adopt a child. I realize there may be occasions where an abortion appears necessary, but I believe these occasions are very rare. Given this, I may support legislation to remove criminal liability for physicians and pregnant women experiencing life threatening pregnancy complications and allow for medical and family decisions regarding continuation of that pregnancy. However, the legislation would have to be very strong to ensure its limitations.
Idaho is seen as a bastion for freedom and liberty, a representation of what our nation’s founders fought for. A state whose people believe in hard work and individual responsibility; and in God, Family, Country, and the Constitution. People from all across the country are moving to Idaho because of this. However, many of the people that have moved here see Idaho going through the stages that destroyed the state they left. Our country and state are quickly heading down a path that will make ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ only a dream of days gone by. Our children and grandchildren will not enjoy the freedom and liberty we have enjoyed. The quality of life for future generations depends on the actions we take today.
