I am a Software Engineer. As such I have had to learn how to listen to users, ask the right questions, work to understand the real issue and problem before setting out to create an application that will resolve the issue for the user. I have learned to be a successful software engineer; you must first completely understand the problem before you start to fix it. These same skills are required to serve as a senator for Idaho citizens.
I believe the biggest challenge to Idaho is growth. For over 5 years Idaho has been one of the fastest growing states in the nation. Growth affects, traffic, roads, education, electrical grid, jobs, and city, county and state budgets. Growth is not all bad thought it has a tendency to bring in cultural events, stores, restaurants, and jobs. The key to growth is management. As a state Senator I would work to recognize the fine line of overreach of Government and strive to allow the local municipalities manage themselves.
Yes, I would. I have very deep religious beliefs when it comes to abortion. I do believe there are some exceptional circumstances that may justify an abortion, such as when pregnancy is the result of incest or rape, when the life or health of the mother is judged by competent medical authority to be in serious jeopardy, or when the fetus is known by competent medical authority to have severe defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth. But even these circumstances do not automatically justify an abortion. Those who face such circumstances should consider abortion only after receiving a confirmation through earnest prayer.
