The Marion County Treasurer's Office (MCTO) is responsible for the billing of approximately 365,000 parcels in Marion County, and interacts with the public extensively to provide customer service, detail on tax statements and other relevant information. To increase community engagement, in 2023 the MCTO initiated a public outreach effort with dedicated personnel to attend community and neighborhood meetings and other events to provide first-hand relevant information to the public.
There are several challenges facing the Treasurer's Office, and government, in general:

**Continuing to provide outstanding customer service and maintain key personnel;

**Updating key technology systems to make sure that we are using the best available to for the billing and collection processes;

**Maximizing investment opportunities.

I plan to be vigilant in managing the resources and opportunities to meet the challenges and address these issues, as I have since starting my term.
The top priorities for the MCTO are generally:

**Update and review technology options to make certain that billing and collection are as efficient and effective as possible;

**Provide well-trained, capable personnel for public information and assistance;

**Review investment policy and practices to maximize interest income.
Funding can always a challenge, but I actually feel very good about our budget levels and ability to meet the challenges of the office.
Continue to provide outstanding customer service and increased efforts to educate and inform the taxpayers through community outreach.

Maintain updates to MCTO website and provide information on relevant activities on social media.

Continue to work internally with leadership team on implementing practices on transparency and efficiency.
