Among Wallowa County's challenges are chronic housing shortages and economic development challenges. These challenges have had a negative impact on our community's economic development, making it difficult for businesses to attract and retain workers and for residents to live and work in the community.
The current mental health crisis is deeply intertwined with economic and social factors.
As Commissioner, I will join other commissioners in continuing the work in collaboration with the Oregon State Government and local non-profit organizations to find ways and means to alleviate the above issues. There are no quick fixes for the issues we face, hence work in progress with long term positive effects is of utmost importance.
