Your Experience/Qualifications Throughout my 25-year career I've had the opportunity to travel all over the world, work with teams big and small, deliver projects on time and on budget. A successful career in construction project management and manufacturing program management has led to customers and previous employers continuing to ask for my help with problem solving. I started my own fabrication business in 2019 and it continues to be a successful adventure into entrepreneurship.

1) Change in organization. We recently change from a Judge and two commissioners to a board of commissioners and a will be hiring a County Manager. This search is going to be a challenge to find the right fit. We need a smart, organized, experience person who will lead our staff and help the business of the county excel. 2) Budgeting for the future. We have a unique situation in our county with big tax revenue due to the county starting in 2027 / 2028 from Meta and Apple. We have a great opportunity to do a lot of good for the whole county if we plan , invest and spend this money prudently. 3) Active community engagement. I believe we need to engage with the community more directly and more often.
I believe that a commissioner must interact with a lot of stake holders. I have a successful career with this in the private sector. I'm a strong problem solver, I believe we need to be prudent with our budgets, Support our staff and remove roadblocks. Our county is changing and we have an opportunity to help guide the changes in order to keep the local history and culture in tact.
Central Oregon needs more than just housing. You can build all the houses you'd like but if the jobs are not available to support the cost of those houses it's a mute point. People want to move to Central Oregon and some are not considering the cost of living. Builders are adding a lot of homes to our region, the county is doing their best to keep the permits and processes moving swiftly. We do need more workforce housing and affordable apartments. I'm not completely sure at this time what any candidate can do to make a positive impact in this area.
