Occupation Planning & Community Development Director
I've been employed with Grant County for the past 17 years holding various positions throughout my career, each have involved increasing responsibilities and have helped me excel and enhance my professional development/leadership skills. I have ensured fiscal responsibility by monitoring tax-dollar purchases, grants/project management, departmental budget oversight, successfully secured and administered funding for projects. I have ensured accounting/financial compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, developed schedules and budgets, project oversight and compliance. I have ensured coordination/collaboration with participating partners and have built and maintained a great rapport with the community.
I want to revitalize the Clerk’s Office to better serve our constituents and be good stewards for the community. My priorities are enhanced public access, increasing voter turnout/accessibility/involvement, providing solution-based customer service, property fraud prevention, civics education for the youth, public engagement, and community outreach. I have the vigor to expand on what is already being done by challenging the current status quo and working towards achieving progress with a purpose.
I will strive towards increasing voter turnout/accessibility/involvement by working to purchase a Mobile Voting Unit. Because we live in rural New Mexico we have some precincts that default to a mail-only ballot. This unit will be a convenient and secure in-person early voting option where voting comes to the people. Additionally, I will implement the Accessible Voting Program, which was initially launched by the Sandoval County Clerk. This program expands access to the ballot box for individuals that are deaf or hard of hearing. The intent is to provide tools and resources at each voting location to ensure ADA compliance. Both of these initiatives expand on the current processes, increase participation, and enhance the voting experience.
The County Clerk is tasked with administering all elections and ensuring that the electoral process is responsible, fair, impartial, secure, and lawful. The County Clerk must implement policies and procedures as prescribed by the New Mexico Office of the Secretary of State. Transparency, accountability, and open communication are vital steps in educating the public on the current safeguards. I will uphold the safeguards to the fullest extent and work towards holding informational in-person sessions about the election processes and use all media platforms to share pertinent information on the safeguards and how the Clerk’s Office is conducting trustworthy elections.

Occupation Grant County Chief Deputy Clerk
I have had the opportunity to work in the County Clerk’s Office for the last 25 years and the last 7 years as the Chief Deputy Clerk. I feel that I have the ability to continue to maintain the qualities to be the next County Clerk. I have many years of experience working with recording, elections, securing and maintaining voter data, and other related voting matters. I have also gone through the training to become a NM Certified County Clerk.
If elected as County Clerk, I would make sure our office provides an opportunity for every citizen to vote to make their voice heard. Not only to meet everyday requirements in elections, but also in our Recording & Filing responsibilities. I will continue to provide the public with excellent customer service. Our office would continue with Voter Integrity.
I will strive for more voter engagement and seek to get new voters through registration drives, particularly focusing on the youth in our community. We also have encouraged citizens to register online, through Motor Vehicle (DMV) and Human Service Department (HSD), and third-party registrars.
We currently provide citizens opportunities to ask for absentee ballots as well as request to be placed on a Permanent Absentee List and to vote in person early or on election day. Same Day Voter Registration is also available throughout early voting and on election day. Our dedication, commitment and attention to detail and fairness in the voting process is remarkable and our constituents should have full confidence in our work. Election Code allows us to provide efficient administration and conduct of elections.
