I was elected to Grants City Council, District 4 in 2014.  I was then elected as Mayor Pro-tem by my fellow councilors.  I quickly displayed my leadership skills by inviting community members to join me in developing and completing several major projects in our city which immediately improved our quality of life and increased business activity in our county and city.
Building economic development in our community and region.
Seek and secure federal and state funding to develop infrastructure that would attract visitors to our area.
Provide funding to build attractive and inviting buildings and events that would bring visitors to our region.
Attract manufacturing and industry that uses less water.

Occupation Substitute Teacher- Longterm
Growing up my family was always very involved in local politics. I feel this has given me the ability to be politically aware of my environment as well as preparing me to be well-versed in skills such as communication and problem solving relating to that capacity.
The biggest challenge facing the county is the lack of financial resources available to help and support departments and entities within and in partnership with the county. This challenge effects and limits the counties abilities.
If I were elected I would work to bring more economic and career based jobs to the area to try to bring in more money from out of state while increasing the quality of life for potential employees. Doing this will increase the possibilities for the county to provide more essential services and needs.
The county should be funding economic development which was created by them in partnership with the City of Grants and the Village of Milan, to provide services. Currently the county is not investing any funds in the Economic Development Foundation.
This is another area that lacks resources in many aspects. I would propose to work with the water districts and associations to give them help and support so they have the ability to work at their best capacity as well as decreasing water waste.
