Occupation Retired
Retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer. 17 Years management in the Wind industry. 2 years Town of Edgewood Commissioner, 7 months as Edgewood NM Mayor
Current representation in the house does not represent or support all residents of the district, especially those in the districts southern communities like Edgewood. Our current Rep lacks respect and empathy for not only those that have opposing views but people in general. No elected official should use thier office to threaten and degrade a community. This is not how government should work and I plan on brining back understanding and respect to the office by working with all people on both sides. It is Ok to disagree but we all need to work together and find the middle ground for the betterment of our state.
Supporting displaced Veterans. Helping those that protected us get off the streets and back to being productive members of our communities. Address crime by supporting law enforcement & increasing the penalties that the courts can impose, especially when a weapon is used. Work with communities to reduce the number of families living on the streets by assisting in lodging and job placements and reducing drugs and other criminal activity that prey on those in a displaced status. Refocusing on education so tax monies go to the teachers and students and not administrations. Improving Rural communities access to proper medical facilities. Reversing the damage done to the medical providers by making it worthwhile to practice in New Mexico.
Reduce income tax on Military and first responders, both active and those receiving retirement pension. Reduce fuel taxes.

Occupation Registered Nurse
I am currently serving as an elected board member for the Central Tri-County Soil and Water Conservation District (formerly known as Edgewood SWCD). As a Registered Nurse, I've spent countless hours listening to and providing for the needs and wishes of others. I spent part of my career in forensics, mainly providing sexual assault nurse exams to victims of sexual assault/abuse, I was also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). These experiences taught me to fight, and fight hard, for what was right, to be a voice for those I was meant to serve. As a wife of an Air Force Veteran that was deployed a lot, with 5 kids in the house at one point, I am resilient, dependable and patriotic. I have what it takes to serve my family and community.
The citizens of House District 50 do not have what they deserve, that is true representation. We are a strong group of people with an amazing ability to care for ourselves. We do not require a big government that attempts to regulate every portion of our existence. I have decided to run for HD 50 so that these citizens have a representative that will be their voice.
As one of the first survivors of Roe v. Wade out of Asotin County, WA, and a woman that declined abortion that was urged of me in 2 pregnancies, I will protect our unborn children, our future. Benefits for our Veterans are a must. I will fight for our 2nd Amendment Rights. We need our border secured. Schools should be about the education of children, not political agendas. Our teachers should be given what they need to do their valuable jobs. I also support local agriculture. We have some of the most responsible, conscientious producers around, and they should be allowed the ability to do what they do best. I would support the pipeline coming through New Mexico, it brings jobs and money, which helps reduce our tax burden.
I would support a large reduction in the income tax of New Mexicans. I would also support an immediate zero tax on Veterans retirement.

Occupation Lawyer
I have degrees in law, business, and natural resources. I have been an attorney for over 30 years. I run my own business, am married, and have kids in public schools. I'm in my 10th year serving in the Legislature.
Public service.
I will continue to try to reform our State Game Commission and Department of Game and Fish into a modern wildlife agency. I will continue to pursue, as I have in the past, legislative reform, ethics, and transparency. And, as always, education and economic development are always priorities in the Legislature.
Our tax structure should be simple, fair, and progressive. I will continue to support legislation that enhances those characteristics.
