Occupation Self Employed-Program Manager/Community Organizer
I am running for public service to further represent and defend my community, family, and loved ones. For the last 7 years I have had the fortunate opportunity to work with my community to organize, plan, and advocate together on a variety of cross-sector social-determinants of health, public health, and other community priorities. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a health council coordinator, project and program manager, to enable the community organizing our community and I participate in. By learning and tapping into these roles I work with my community to address our concerns, set goals, and prioritize our actions to defend, learn, and grow together.
I have lived in Tsayatoh and the McKinley community for the majority of my 36 years. I love how much our own community and families continue to build together for the health and prosperity of us all, despite working, living, and surviving in systems not built by or for the majority of our communities Indigenous peoples, including myself. Along with this inherent place in my community and my people, I have worked diligently in my education as well in my subsequent endeavors, and current career community organizing and project managing. Not only has all this skill, work ethic, and dedication to my community helped me realize my own potential but it has also inspired others to take on similar endeavors. This is the type of leadership we need.
My highest priorities come from our own McKinley communities priorities and in my current position as a health council program manager I get to organize and identify our current community priorities like health care access, housing, behavioral health, environmental justice, education and living wages. Its important that we listen to our community, and continuously, on the issues most concerning them as they evolve and change depending on how much people are being affected. However, it is also important to listen out for others not as prominent or vocal in our communities, so being sure to equitable reach out to the most affected communities remains part of prioritizing also.
We need to collectively assess and address our dependence and water needs of our communities and industries that utilize our natural resources and peoples. We need to develop as many tools, technologies, and policies to effectively reduce our wasteful consumption and pollution of our earth’s and one of life's most important elements. Tó éí iiná (water is life).
We need to collectively assess and address our systems of public safety and determine if current policies are harmful to the freedoms and respectful of everyone. Our current approach of punishing and enacting more forceable actions upon people does nothing to enable healing for people and at times further endangers public safety. However there are definitely violent instances where direct interventions and aggressive force is needed. Our current system tends to focus on changing peoples characters rather than focusing in healing peoples lives. Trauma not transformed will continue to transfer among our communities and continue to disintegrate the public safety of all. For the safety of all our communities, we need healing policies.
I support changes that would address the inequality of our current tax structure and hold more accountable those that continue to benefit from and live off of our frontline, often sacrificially, and working class communities.

I am running to make sure that the communities that are within the district get the information that is needed. The representation that we get is not next to nothing. I want to make sure that all the funding that is available for the communities is relayed to them and that they are able to get assistance if needed from the state. I also want to see that the students in the area are given the funding that is needed for school and to help improve the wages for good teacher to stay in the area and have improve the lives of our youth. Currently none of the communities are getting this type of feedback or information or assistance.
have been in local governance with the Navajo Nation and have served a total of 11.5 years as the president. I worked for the Navajo Nation in the Division of Economic Development as the Department Director in the Tourism Office.

We need to find ways to keep our public safety Officers employed within the state by increasing their wages and benefits to ensure that all citizens are safe. Pass laws that give communities more access to the funding needed to make their roads safe by repairing and building new infrastructure . This would help with our children traveling safely to and from school.
