I am running because public service is one of the most impactful ways to improve the lives of children, women, and families, and because unethical leaders must go. Over the past five years, I've collaborated with lawmakers to pass legislation on abortion rights, gun violence prevention, climate, healthcare, voting rights, education, labor rights, and more. I want to use my experience to lead in reducing crime and homelessness, improving education, increasing access to healthcare, and more.
It’s been my experience that top-of-mind issues for voters in the city today are the increased number of people experiencing homelessness, school and neighborhood safety, housing affordability, healthcare access, and childcare/elder care. A top priority is housing. Addressing housing issues requires affordable solutions for homeowners and renters, governmental cooperation to reduce homelessness, establishing trust funds for renters, and streamlining construction processes for residential units.
Fully funding executive branch agencies working on water issues is imperative for securing New Mexico's future amidst water scarcity concerns. Establishing a dedicated office within the NM Environmental Department is crucial. Adequate legislative funding is essential to support these programs effectively. In response to the 2023 Sackett v. EPA case, New Mexico should reinstate pre-ruling protections at the state level, especially for surface water.
I support efforts to reduce violence, retail, and property crime, and combat the fentanyl crisis. I support sensible gun safety laws like assault weapon bans and red flag laws. Collaboration with law enforcement and government entities is critical for swift justice. We must prioritize full funding and support for frontline defenders and preventive programs like the Violence Intervention Program. As a legislator, I'll push to fund such initiatives and evidence-based behavioral health programs.
Albuquerque is facing a significant housing shortage, making renting and affording a home harder, not only for young people. To add to our housing supply, I support constructing much-needed new housing for all income levels and incentivizing the local private market to build more affordable housing. Additionally, we need to increase our construction workforce, and partnering with local building trades unions to expand apprenticeships and worker training programs is a good approach.
We must grow our local economy and support workers. We must continue to invest and grow high-value industries like film, renewable energy, technology, and healthcare while supporting our local small businesses.
We need more diversity in the NM Legislature—experience, ethnicity, age, and gender. New Mexico has the last unpaid legislature in the country, and it essentially limits the type of person who can serve to those who are retired or independently wealthy. This needs to change, and I strongly support all efforts to modernize our legislature. The legislature should also provide efficient staff for all members to help ensure the passage of smart, sound, dynamic policy that moves New Mexico forward.

Have been Project Manager, NGO President, Neighborhood Association President, Lived and worked around the world with many cultures and societies . I have successfully completed engineering, architectural, cultural, projects by working with people showing the benefits of cooperation and striving for a common goal. Together we can reach compromise for the betterment of our State. This is what I can bring to the citizens of NE Albuquerque and the State of New Mexico.

Save our Water, Cover Acequias and Arroyos when there is water in them to reduce the evaporation factor. Encourage water reclaim from roof tops. Encourage a reduction of water usage during showers and baths. Have businesses and municipalities reduce water usage, Restock our aquafers. Attempt to renegotiate our water agreements.
Increase the number of Law Enforcement personnel, Increase the pay for Law Enforcement . Remove the revolving doors at our Prisons
Earn as you go, a program to have those that want housing work on building housing for others in the program, They will Learn trades, and end up with house /apartment of their own.
Use tax credits to bring in companies with a high paying jobs in various industries.
I would like to see a study of the benefits and detriments of the current system vs. a salary system. Then let the public vote
