If elected, I would ensure that all elementary schools would have equal access to resources and infrastructure. I would advocate for equitable distribution of educational resources and addressing disparities.
If elected, I would work to support renewable energy initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint. I will also ensure that the clean air act of 1970 is enforced in order to improve the quality of life for our citizens.
I would advocate for technology to be used to protect databases and voting devices from attacks from the cyber universe.
If elected, I would offer an approach that includes increasing access to mental health services by offering additional funds to mental heath organizations and community health centers. Also, I would ramp up media campaigns in order to help de-stigmatize negative perceptions of mental illness.
I want the citizens to know that I am committed to representing their interests and working toward a brighter future for the community of Lake County, district three.

Inadequate funding for local governments and schools. Property taxes are not adequate for many older communities. Local governments need additional funding from sales and income taxes. Police, fire, schooling and other services cannot be provided at the level that is needed at the current funding levels.

I would work to eliminate charter schools and public funding for private schools. All our energy and resources must be directed towards improving our public school systems. I would focus funding towards schools based on test scores. Schools with the lowest test scores are clearly in need of the most help and additional funding could provide that needed help. We need to all pay attention to the academic needs of every child in Indiana, not just those in our local communities.
I currently serve on two committees that can have a direct impact on environmental justice and climate disasters. The Utilities committee is focused on replacing older, dirtier, outdated utilities with safer and cleaner modern green utilities for power, water and sewage. The Homeland Security Committee is working to insure that there is adequate funding for first responders and disaster planners.
In spite of what you might hear in the news, our election systems are secure and safe. What is unsafe, is the information we are fed regarding politicians and issues. AI presents a serious threat to all of society anytime it's important to know what's true and accurate and what's false and made up. We must prevent AI generated information from being accepted as true in all aspects of our life by requiring to be clearly marked as false. On the Commerce and Technology committee that I sit on, I helped push through a bill to fast track a state study of AI on government and schools so we can be prepared to handle it as soon as possible.
Our mental health system works fine for those who can afford it and have the time to devote to their mental health. Indiana desperately needs to increase access to mental health resources available to the poor or those with little time to devote to their problems.
I feel strongly that increasing job creation and overall economic improvement that come when businesses are created or move from other areas is key to improving the overall quality of life in Northwest Indiana. Nothing improves ones outlook on things more than a good job that has the prospect of improving ones well being. Northwest Indiana was built because of the jobs that were available in the steel industry and we need to create new jobs that can grow the job prospects for everyone in the region today.
