Work Experience Work experience includes: Mediation attorney, Fifth District Court of Appeals (2019-present); Director, law firm of Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A. (2011-2019); Magistrate, Stark County Probate Court (2010-2011); Director of Community and Government Relations, North Carolina's Eastern Region (2008-2010); Claims representative for Sentry Insurance (2007-2008); Staff attorney, Fifth District Court of Appeals (1995-2007); Law Clerk to Judge John W. Wise, Stark County Court of Common Pleas (1993-1995); Law Clerk to Ret. Judge Harold DeHoff, Stark County Court of Common Pleas (1992-1993).
Family Married and my husband's name is Daniel Vaughn.
Affiliations Ohio State Bar Association; Stark County Bar Association (past president 2021-2022); Commissioner on the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct (2021-present); Council member for Village of Hills and Dales (2019-present); Canton Ballet board member (2019-present); Ohio State Bar Association Appellate Law Certification Committee (2019-present); Friends of the Children's Network board member (2014-2018, 2023-present); Rotary Club of Jackson Township (1993-2007, 2012-present).
I have worked a total of 16 years, with the judiciary, at the Fifth District Court of Appeals. First, as a staff attorney to Judge John W. Wise and presently, as a mediation attorney, at the court. I established the court's mediation program in 2019.
I also have experience in the private sector working in the litigation/appellate sections at Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A. I advised and represented clients in all phases of litigation. At the appellate level, I drafted motions, briefs, and presented oral arguments in the Fifth, Seventh and Ninth District Courts of Appeals and I assisted with a couple cases before the Ohio Supreme Court. This non-judicial experience was in addition to my experience working behind the bench and I believe this makes me a well-rounded candidate for the appellate bench.
I am running for a judicial seat, on the Fifth District Court of Appeals, because I want to continue the high quality of service this court provides to the residents of the 15 counties comprising the Fifth District Court of Appeals. These counties include: Ashland, Coshocton, Delaware, Fairfield, Guernsey, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Perry, Richland, Stark and Tuscarwas. In 2025, two Judges will retire from the bench. They will take a combined 66 years of appellate experience with them. It is imperative that voters elect candidates who have strong appellate backgrounds to fill these seats. In addition to my appellate experience, I am also 1 of only 25 attorneys, in the state of Ohio, who is certified as an appellate law specialist by the Ohio State Bar Association. I have practiced law for over 31 years and I have the experience that matters to serve on the Fifth District Court of Appeals' bench.

Practiced law for over 25 years in Business Law, Probate, Estate Planning, Real Estate law, Administrative Law and some criminal law as well. I also have much private sector business experience that has been a valuable asset for me which gives me a unique insight when analyzing cases.
I decided to run for this Appellate Court seat when I found out no other candidates running had any previous experience as a Judge. The Court of Appeals is the second highest Court in the State and the Appellate Court Judges job will be to review lower Court Judges decisions. Having Judicial experience is very important and I think it's much better to have someone who has been a Judge reviewing lower court judges opinions versus someone who has never been a judge. I entered this race to make sure the people of the 5th district had the option to elect someone with actual judicial experience for one of the highest Courts in the State.
