Funding our schools properly, which will help lessen the tax burden. Monroe County schools are the worst in the state in funding and have been underfunded for decades. Protecting a woman's right to her body, better pay, better jobs, affordable housing, mental health issues, affordable higher education, helping our Veterans with taxes, healthcare & affordable housing, cost of living adjustments for seniors, affordable healthcare, better roads and infrastructure, clean energy and climate iniatives, affordable PRE-K to name a few. For every $1 we invest in educating kids, we get a $17 return. In my Pike County portion of my district, they need accessible healthcare. I have been working on that since day one.
The propaganda that elections are not secure is an outrage to me. We have extremely secure elections and access to the ballot is key for every Pennsylvanian. I support open primaries as well. I would keep mail in voting, support our counties in the process and I support Governor Shapiro's initiatives with DMV registration.
I have voted to stop the cyber charter thievery on our tax payers. House Bill 1422, money should not go to coroporations in public education, it should go to kids, and these cyber charter corporations have taken nearly 2 billion dollars from our taxpayers. The Governor supports this as well. The Basic Education Funding Commission found that we have underserved our schools over the last 25 years and agree with their assessment that we are 5 billion dollars underfunded. Monroe County Schools are literally the worst in the state and if this passes in his budget, we will see relief on our taxes, more programs for kids and better overall outcomes. I support Public Education and when schools are good, communities thrive.
I signed on to all house bills that protect a woman's right to her body, protecting the doctors who perform abortions, and women from other states seeking abortion. Abortion is healthcare, and I will protect a woman's right at all costs. These bills are sitting in the Senate.
