PA must bring our Basic Education Funding into constitutionality by implementing the Fair Funding Formula over the next 7 years. We need strong unions that aid workers in achieving fair wages that not only pay the monthly bills, but allow for savings for the future. Further funding for apprenticeships and student teaching will entice and attract more folks to specialize in education and trades. Housing and education are critical.
Maintaining women's reproductive freedoms is important for Pennsylvanians (and the USA). I will support organizations like Planned Parenthood, who champion women's health. Supporting and protecting our LGBTQ community through the Fairness Act ranks high on my list. Environmental protections are needed, as well.
The lack of ballot drop boxes is an inconvenience and a deterrent to voting. Bringing the language of the PA Election Code into the 21st century would help reduce confusion, vagueness, and inaccuracies that are still in print within the Code. According to pa.gov, there isn't any evidence that PA voting results have every been hacked. Providing the public with accurate data before, during, and after elections can help to build trust in the system, resulting in higher voter turnout.
I will continue to support the Basic Education Funding Commission's report regarding the implementation of the devised funding formula that would bring PA into compliance with the verdict within 7 years.
I will defer to medical professionals, particularly within Planned Parenthood and gynecology offices, to voice any changes needed to PA abortion laws and communicate with me any advocacy needs to consider.
