I am from this District, and it is our time. I've served this community for over 20 years, and my life has been a testament to what it means to take care of home. I have served through my mantra #resultsmatter, with a track record of servant leadership. I fought the waterboard head-on to lower the high water bills as a member of the Prichard City Council. When a baby in our community went missing, I stopped my campaign, led search parties to find her, and then went to the Alabama Legislature to pass the Hawaii Robinson Alert System to find missing children in Alabama. As a member of the Alabama Board of Apprenticeships and through my full-time position at Austal, USA, I work closely with local students to empower our young people through apprenticeships and creating different pathways to make them college and career-ready. Everything in my life has led me to this moment. I have been doing this work, and I will continue to do it, and as a member of Congress, its impact will only expand.
My priority issues are the heart of progress: education, healthcare, economics, and workforce development. I will focus on job creation to expand my work as an advocate for policies that attract business and good-paying jobs. Support investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology sectors to boost the economy and provide career opportunities. Healthcare: Address the longstanding disparities and focus on initiatives that expand access and address the cost burden on families, like expanding Medicaid, investing in community health centers and preventative care. Education: to address the achievement gap, we must invest more in our public schools to ensure all our children have quality teachers, proper materials, and opportunities.
My top environmental priority is ensuring a comprehensive national energy policy that addresses climate change while prioritizing affordability for American families. I believe in a multi-pronged approach focused on combating climate change and reducing energy costs. We must drive clean energy innovation and deployment by investment, such as offering tax incentives and grants for businesses and individuals to transition to clean energy sources, supporting communities and workers during the transition by providing job training and upskilling programs, and implementing equitable policies to ensure communities of color and low-income communities benefit from the clean energy transition and address energy affordability by implementing smart regulations and market mechanisms to promote competition and keep energy prices affordable. I recognize the urgency of addressing climate change, and in Washington, I will remain dedicated to building a sustainable, resilient, and equitable future.
By doing what I have done throughout my career as a public servant, saying accessible. I am the candidate you will run into at the grocery store or while dropping your kids off at school, and as a Member of Congress, I will remain on the ground in the community I represent just as I always have. I will continue to utilize social media and host listening tours and town halls to keep my constituents informed on what I'm doing on their behalf in Washington and to hear what they need from me. Furthermore, as technology advances, I will prioritize using the best ways to connect with my constituents.
Creating avenues toward economic and workforce development is my top priority. Since AL02 is my home district, I have seen firsthand industries located in larger cities, leaving our communities behind. I will fight for suppliers to be good corporate citizens to locate in smaller communities to expand the economic opportunity and ensure my constituents have jobs in their communities. The federal government plays a crucial role in creating pathways to job training to prepare people for high-paying jobs that will help them support their families. The federal government can facilitate these partnerships through matchmaking programs, joint procurement initiatives, and tax incentives for collaboration. This looks like targeted tax incentives, investment in rural infrastructure, leveraging public-private partnerships, collaborating with community colleges and technical schools to develop training programs relevant to local industry needs, and expanding access to capital for small businesses.
1) National Security 2) Defense Alliances and Treaty Obligations 3) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. The primary criterion is to safeguard national security interests. Military involvement and presence may be necessary to fulfill defense treaty commitments, uphold security arrangements, and support allies. US military forces are vital to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

Identifying and advocating for federal funding opportunities that align with the District's needs and priorities can help leverage resources to benefit the community and contribute to its long-term prosperity and well-being, such as water and sewer system improvements, broadband expansion, economic development, and job creation.
