Town Meeting Precinct D {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

POLLING PLACE: Warren Building, 90 Washington StreetTown Meeting is Wellesley’s Legislative arm of government. It consists of 240 Town Meeting Members elected by precinct. The members are elected for staggered, 3-year terms so that 10 members are elected from each precinct each year in the March annual town election. Depending on vacancies some precincts will have more members to be elected to fill the unexpired seats.Town Meeting is responsible for passing a balanced annual town budget, and enacts all town by-laws. Annual Town Meeting is held in March/April to enact the following year's budget, plus whatever other matters are placed on the Town Meeting Warrant. The Annual Town Meeting begins the last Monday of March and continues on Monday and Tuesday nights until the business is completed. Special Town Meeting may be held as needed for issues that cannot be delayed until the Annual Town Meeting.

I advocate for affordable housing initiatives to address our community's housing challenges. I prioritize fair zoning laws that balance development and community needs. Additionally, I am committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of our schools for a thriving educational environment.

I love Wellesley. As a TMM, I will bring leadership experience working with town government. As The Library Foundation president, I oversaw a $1.1m campaign for the WFL main branch renovation. I have led community-building PTO events, including chairing the annual Schofield 5K Road Race. I look forward to working on important issues, including strategic housing development and recreational spaces.

The growth of Wellesley's Town Budget remains a deep concern. At Town Meeting we must send a clear message that non-essential requests need to be limited and scheduled within less aggressive timetables, lest the budget grow beyond reasonable measure. How to determine what is non-essential? Reduce the allowed guideline percentage increases as the Town budgets are developed and avoid overrides.

Dear Section D, We moved from London 10 years ago and found Wellesley the most wonderful welcoming town and this made our transition seamless. I feel a deep connection to the community. Running for this position gives me a great opportunity to actively participate in shaping the future of our town and making it a better place to live for all residents.

I run to serve our community, and my knowledge, experience and judgment may benefit TM, and also my current role on CPC. Supporting the schools is critical, but open space and recreation are also important. The best that what Wellesley is must be tended while embracing and welcoming diversity.

I have been affiliated with town affairs for quite some time. I am running because I think Wellesley leaders have become too comfortable and have lost the vision of what Wellesley should and could be. I do not believe we do enough for our seniors to help advise them how to age in place or provide suitable and affordable housing options for them. I also think it is time to demand more from our schools.
