It is of greatest importance that the voter roles are cleaned so that voters feel confident in the process. The state has already cleaned up over a million addresses and people that should not be on the voter rolls.
The county already provides services through the Brazos County Health Department for those with and without insurance. In addition the County facilitates the local patient provider fund. This is a 6%added charge to patients that have insurance which Medicare matches for those in Brazos County that don’t have insurance
Proper funding to provide the level of service that the residents of Brazos County expect. The Sheriffs office, the jail system, the courts, poling locations, Brazos County Health Department, and county roads and bridges. What I am opposed to is taxing more than what the current needs are.

The vote is a precious and powerful force for each registered voter. The outcome of the vote controls the fate of our nation. The voting process now is very vulnerable. I have done much research and listened to several experts on voting integrity. I have concluded that although on the surface the voting machines seem to be secure, they have many shortcomings and need to be replaced with paper numbered ballots. The ballots should be issued by each precinct accounted for like balancing a check book. The absentee ballots must be numbered for control. Issued only to voters that ask for a ballot. Additionally, voter signatures must be verified. The poll selections must be unbiased. Made through a balanced committee with unbiased rules.
I was on the board of the Brazos County Health District, they do a wonderful job caring for the health of citizens. It is underfunded. The District works from state, federal grants and from local government funding. Texas has the highest uninsured population in the country. The local funding must be increased to meet the developing needs. The" Health for All” organization provides great medical service to the community but is limited by funding. Although they do not take donations from government entities now, it is important for the county to develop a support system for Health for All to expand their efforts. Funding is key!
Spending out of control. Property taxes are always on the increase whether increased by property VALUES or county property tax RATE increases. The impact of increased taxes combined with inflation on citizens needs to be considered more. The need to take more citizens’ money is driven by the out-of-control spending. The ground water district allows water to be sold outside the district which jeopardizes the future availability of water in Brazos County. Brazos commissioners appoint half of the district board. More supervision by the county must be exercised through its appointees to stop outside selling and protect all landowners’ water rights.
