Affordable and accessible healthcare for all Ohioans and maintaining a strong Medicaid program and expansion of the Medicare system for Ohio. *Another top priority of mine is to focus on affordable housing and insuring that we there are more programs available for Ohioans to carve a path to first time home ownership, including the expansion of support services in the area. *Protection of woman’s reproductive rights. Protecting the public education system from programs that take away public sector funding, which opens the door to private/for profit entities obtaining financial assistance with no accountability for teacher credentials, student outcomes and other minimal standards. *Environmental concerns for Lake Erie preservation, see below
While campaigning this year, I am also going to fight to pass the anti-gerrymandering ballot initiative. We deserve to have districts that represent us, not districts that are hand picked by extremist politicians. I believe in automatic voter registration at the age of 18 for Ohio citizens and extended access to vote by mail with multiple drop boxes in each county. More drop box locations.
Ohio needs to stop these extremist attacks on our most vulnerable communities, specifically the LGBTQ+. It’s difficult for businesses to recruit and retain talent when our state government is pushing legislation that restricts the rights and accessibility of this group and other marginalized groups in Ohio. Businesses are eager to come to this state, as evidenced by the continued expansion of Google, Amazon, Intel, Honda, and other companies. But if Ohio doesn’t stop it’s extreme legislation, it’s going to slow our ability to attract companies.
We need to look at all the factors that go into a quality education system and be sure we are providing the tools, environment, and funding for our students, teachers and staff to thrive in the 21st century Protecting the public education system from programs that take away public sector funding, which opens the door to private/for profit entities obtaining financial assistance with no accountability for teacher credentials, student outcomes and other minimal standards. The biggest barrier to fully funding our schools is the use of billions of public tax dollars being funneled into non-public schools that are not subject to the same metrics and financial oversight as our public schools are.
Local governments are constantly having to go to the taxpayers for levy campaigns just to keep city services operating at a level we all deserve. The state should be supporting our local government and ensuring those tax revenues are flowing back into the community instead of hoarding them at the state level. We need to legislate how these state monies are disseminated versus hoarding these dollars. As a taxpayer, we are constantly being asked to increase local taxes while the state could easily fully fund local community services instead of consistently being asked to increase our taxes through levies at the voting booth.
As I stated above, healthcare is a human right. I believe that the state should be working to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to all Ohioans, especially our aging population and the LGBTQ+ community..

As an attorney involved in the Opioid addiction crisis, I have seen first-hand the carnage and the lives destroyed that this problem has created. We have to get on the front end of this crisis that is killing too many of our precious community members daily. The combination of a pandemic that pushed us all into isolation and certain drug companies taking advantage of an unregulated system put us in this situation. We need to claw our way out of it. The solution, I believe, will require bold solutions. We have to find holistic
As an Ohioan, I believe that we need to bring everyone to the table to protect our farming community; runoff; and the protection of one of our most precious resources, Lake Erie, which as we all know has been impacted by the Algae Bloom. Experts in all relevant areas need to come together to comprehensively try to come up with viable solutions. This is not something that cannot be put on the shelf, but urgently dealt with.
As the parent of a trans female, who is also gay, I have been exposed to inexplicable hatred. The extremists in both the House and the Senate have attempted to legislate discrimination. If private companies implemented these discriminatory practices, they would be instantly sued for discrimination and would be defeated. Our government should be protecting, not discriminating, and legislation that legalizes discrimination against LGBTQ+ people not only harms us all, but will continue to drive young people and families out of the state. We all want an Ohio where people want to raise their families, not one that is known nationally for taking away the right to bodily autonomy. I will always listen to and fight for those who are marginalized an
