Together, the House of Representatives and the Senate constitute the Connecticut General Assembly (CGA). The General Assembly enacts legislation dealing with state appropriations and finance, public welfare, the environment, public works, housing, education, civil and criminal laws, and other matters. The Senate tries all impeachments of executive and judicial branch officials. In Connecticut, members of the state’s legislative body, the General Assembly, must be at least eighteen years old and reside in the district they represent. Senate and House members serve two-year terms. Candidates were asked to respond to questions developed by local Leagues of Women Voters (LWV). Candidates enter their replies directly into Vote411, and replies are not edited by the LWV.This is the link to the CGA website: https://www.cga.ct.gov/To view sample ballots go to this website:- https://portal.ct.gov/sots/election-services/town-ballots/2026-november-town-election-ballots

State Senator, 2019-present; State Representative, 2011-2018. Senior Deputy Republican Leader and Policy & Screening Chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus. Ranking Member of the Government Administration & Elections, Government Oversight, Housing, and Labor & Public Employees Committees; former member of the Appropriations, Finance, Judiciary, Insurance, and Commerce Committees. Professional background in real estate and insurance.
My top two priorities are lowering Connecticut’s cost of living and restoring public safety. Decades of one-party rule in Hartford have produced higher taxes, costly mandates, rising energy bills, and policies that make it harder for families and businesses to stay here. I will continue to be a strong check on that agenda by opposing tax and spending increases, removing the Public Benefits Charge from electric bills, cutting unnecessary mandates and regulation, and demanding honest, accountable government. On public safety, I support strong law enforcement, consequences for repeat and violent offenders, and policies that put victims and safe communities first.
Connecticut will become more affordable when government itself becomes less expensive. Hartford Democrats have repeatedly increased spending, taxes, fees, mandates, and hidden costs that ultimately land on families and businesses. I have never voted for a tax or spending increase and will continue opposing them. I support eliminating the Public Benefits Charge, reducing taxes and fees, cutting waste and political spending, ending unfunded mandates, restraining borrowing, and easing unnecessary regulation. Connecticut needs an effective check on one-party government and honest budgeting that lets people keep more of what they earn.
