As an active member of the Plan Commission, I will continue to promote positive planning practices to protect, preserve, and improve the infrastructure, land, and environment for all our citizens, institutions and businesses. As a member of the Stormwater Management Board, I will continue to assist to improve drainage and to resolve drainage issues with cost-effective solutions. The maintenance and perpetuation of section corner monuments, which affect all property ownership, is a challenge due to excavation, construction, and road work. I will continue the perpetuation of important survey markers, reference points and benchmarks by working with municipal, state and federal agencies as they plan roads and public works projects.
Participating on Porter County Plan Commission has given me, a licensed Civil Engineer with environmental engineering education and experience, the opportunity to promote ordinances for positive planning practices to protect, preserve, and improve Porter County’s natural and environmental resources. Working on the Stormwater Management Board and numerous watershed organizations, gives me an opportunity to participate in improving water quality. Finally, I’ve been in a leadership role on the Northwest Regional Plan Commission, which formulates model ordinances and coordinated policies throughout the Midwest affecting air, land and water quality.
I will continue to help create, coordinate and communicate opportunities for the benefit of the various agencies, municipalities, township and county involved with Porter County Government and the citizens of Northwest Indiana.
I enjoy giving personal service to Porter County citizens, and have made that the highest priority of this office by being available and providing assistance with drainage, property, and surveying issues in as timely and efficient a manner as possible. I will continue add to more than 285 Gb of surveyor records available currently on the Porter County Surveyor web page in the “Scanned Document” folder, which is available to the public.
I enjoy the challenges of this office, and I will continue to promote adoption of positive changes for everyone's best quality of life. I am committed to improving my life-long home, Porter County. Both sides of my family have been here since before 1900, I have no desire to ever live or work anywhere else.
