Lee County Board of Education, District 1

The Lee County Board of Education is the governing body of the Lee County School System and is responsible for the control, operation, organization, management, and administration of public schools in the system pursuant to the provisions and standards prescribed by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education rules. As members of an instrumentality created by the state, the Lee Board of Education members are officers of the state, but they have only local jurisdiction.Members of the Lee County Board of Education shall be elected for six (6) year terms by the qualified electors of Lee County. Members of the Board shall hold office until their successors have been elected and qualified.
