I have been an attorney for 30 years and am currently the Assistant Register of Probate in the Hampden Probate and Family Court. I have been working in this court for 16 years. I first served as Family Law Facilitator by helping thousands of low-income, self-represented parties complete forms and learn the laws, rules, and procedures relevant to their cases. Prior to that I was in private practice for 14 years representing children and parents in the Probate and Family and Juvenile Courts.
The Register must keep accurate, complete, and efficient records of the Probate and Family Court while providing excellent customer service and access to justice for all parties. This takes great leadership skills and innovative thinking. Since the pandemic, procedures have changed significantly and often. The Register must be adaptable to lead her staff and continue to serve the families of Hampden County while treating everyone with dignity and respect. I have experience leading the office.
As FLF I worked with individuals as well as opposing parties at the same time. I have had continuing legal education throughout my career, resulting in my being able to stay current with the laws, rules, and procedures as they evolve. I understand the struggles people experience when their family unit breaks down, having worked with them as their attorney, mentor, mediator, advisor, and counselor. I have objectively helped both sides of many conflicts, while maintaining an even temperament.
