Executive Director of Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center
To leverage my years of business, government and not-for-profit experience to serve others so that they and their families can have a better quality of life.
In being an owner of businesses and as an elected official for Louisville Metro Council and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, I have developed strategies to increase the motivation of people to take action.
Government is supposed to make life easier and better for average Kentuckians. Representatives are supposed to serve consituents - not big donors and PACs and cronies. The people who pay for government through their taxes deserve transparency in how their tax money is being spent and in how laws are being crafted - and why. We need a thoroughly considered revision of our tax code - not something pushed through in secret in 72 hours. We need representatives who are interested in finding and creating avenues for greater revenue and in making our genuine public education system a priority with funding to allow smaller classes, less testing and more teaching.
I am canvassing in my district every day and am reminding everyone with whom I speak of the importance of their vote. I will do a push to get out the vote immediately prior to election day.
