For the past 20 years, I have worked for Life Unlimited, a local agency providing home and community services for adults with IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities). During that time, I have worked and continue to work with many government agencies as related to services being provided. As a result, I have an in depth understanding of the needs of the individuals under the care to the PA's office..

The nature of the PA’s office requires you to hold certain core values. Having an unselfish concern for others, being authentic and truthful and respecting everyone. Being willing and able to recognize mistakes, take responsibility and act with humility These are the values that I have lived by and will bring with me to the PA’s office.

The training and experiences I have had over the past 2 decades make me uniquely qualified to serve as the Clay County Public Administrator.
As a service provider for adults with IDD, Life Unlimited is required to maintain transparency. We are subject to continuous oversight from service coordinators with agencies like the Center for Human Services and the Kansas City Regional Office. We are required to maintain accreditation in the state of Missouri and are subject to audits in order to maintain that accreditation. I am fully prepared to take these experiences into the PA’s office and continue with those same standards to maintain accountability to the courts and the citizens of Clay County. In regards to efficiency, we have been trained to utilize technology and available resources in order to provide the best quality services. As the PA, I will bring in those standards to ensure that the office and those who work within the office maintain the quality and efficiency that is expected by the courts, government agencies and by the residents of Clay County.

First and foremost, I have served as the Clay County Public Administrator for the past four years. I am well prepared for another term in office. I know how to serve our wards to the fullest extent possible, and I am always looking for more ways or programs to serve their needs. Prior to my current term, my career included stints in both large legal and government offices. I have an understanding of how these institutions work, which is helpful because the Public Administrator works with these types of entities each and every day. Additionally, I look forward to serving all Clay County citizens, and I am always available to citizens. My telephone number is 816-407-3250.
When I was elected to office in January 2017, I pledged to run a more efficient office. I have met these goals by updating the office into the 21st Century. I saved money and resources by utilizing technology already available to the county. I will continue to improve what needs to be improved, and to work with fellow officeholders to correct the current struggles Clay County is encountering.

In terms of transparency, my office has to balance the security of our wards against that principle. The Public Administrator is charged with handling protected and sensitive health, personal, and financial information for a vulnerable population; however, in terms of accountability, my office is audited regularly by the Circuit Court and several other governmental institutions, such as the Social Security Administration.
