Age 44
Serving over eight years in the U.S. Army, I built a solid foundation of leadership experience. In 17 years of law enforcement, I have worked in positions from patrol to command. I have held progressive responsibilities in the ranks of lieutenant and captain. From Unit Commander to Division Commander, I worked on budgets, managed million-dollar projects, and helped city and county leaders respond and recover from natural disasters. I graduated from the 264th session of the FBI National Academy, am a Missouri certified Emergency Manager Level 2, and am certified in Disaster Preparedness through the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. My professional associations are with the Metropolitan Chiefs and Sheriffs Association, International Association of Emergency Managers, Fraternal Order of Police, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Missouri Sheriffs’ Association, the National Sheriffs’ Association, and the FBI National Academy Associates.
I would like to create a Citizen Action Committee comprised of community leaders throughout Clay County. The goal for this committee will be to provide us insight regarding our service to the community from the citizen perspective. Additionally, I would like to create a Community Action Unit that will specifically address current issues within our communities and work with outside organizations to find the most effective and appropriate solution for identified issues. I will continue to foster the working relationships I have established over the years with all disciplines of public safety, the mental health community, elected officials, and community leaders throughout our county and region. We will continue to work together to achieve common goals that benefit our communities. Additionally, I will continue to make myself and the Sheriff’s Office accessible to all our community partners to ensure maximum collaboration, efficiency, and transparency.
