Public Safety; Education; State Budget... 1) I've served as a law enforcement chaplain for many years (currently with the Highway Patrol & Clay County Sheriff's Office). In that role, I've seen the desperate situation people face when in need of public safety. 2) I'm a firm believer in the essential role that education plays in a free society. I've also seen the devastating affects that exist when one lacks a good education. 3). Our state's priorities are tied directly to the limited funds that are available within our state budget. We must steward those dollars effectively to provide the services required.
I will continue asking important, hard questions; I will continue to listen to the various voices of those involved/affected; I will continue to think through the available options; I will continue striving for the best decisions; and, I will continue communicating with my constituents to keep them informed.
