EDUCATION

As a teacher, I believe college may not be for all children. We must invest in vocational tech education for students who want to develop skills. The dignity of work that our electricians, mechanics, welders, HVAC workers, and plumbers should be celebrated. We are missing a whole generation of students who are taught to undervalue these skills. I also believe in the power of public service which is why I have been a tireless advocate for our teachers. Our teachers make our schools the best in Missouri. We should pass pro teacher and pro education policies that support our front-line educators and that give them the tools to continue impact the lives of our children.

HEALTH CARE

The most critical issue facing our communities in Missouri is access to healthcare. We need to continue to expand medicare to our vulnerable populations while allowing everyone the choice and flexibility to determine their best care.
The time for party politics is over! Compromise used to define politics, but our country and state remain polarized while our constituents suffer. While I'm a Democratic candidate for office, I pledge to work with Republican counterparts to pass legislation that directly helps the working poor, working families, seniors, veterans, and those who believe the political system is not working for them.

The current state of incivility, violence and attacks upon our culture is disturbing and must be addressed immediately. Public policy dealing with these issues is critical to restoring law and order in our society. Policies dealing with COVID-19 and the impact it has had upon our economy, education system, and daily lives requires immediate sound policies from all levels of government, particularly state government. These areas of public policy are my most immediate concerns.
Challenges facing our state are many due to the impact of COVID-19. It has affected our lives in ways never before experienced by most of us. This is a time for leadership and compromise in addressing such issues and I welcome the opportunity to work with others for the benefit of the people.
