“Running for public office…why would you want to do that?” It is a valid question to ask a person who even contemplates running for an elected position in this period of partisan politics. The greatest factor that influences me is my mother. She was a Registered Nurse. She served people without reservation, and taught me most importantly if you serve people for the correct moral, ethical and spiritual reason's it left no time to complain or feel sorry for yourself. This legacy of unselfish service left to me by my mother guides me to try and bring statesmanship back into the political world by bringing accountability to public service by pledging to stay involved with the community that elects me. If I can build trust then perhaps people will have a desire to become more aware of what happens in Oklahoma City, how the decisions on public education and health care are made. The honest and unselfish desire to make this world a better place calls me to public service.
