Education (I will explain more in the next answer)
Jobs / Workforce Development - District 42 has 5 colleges in a very small radius but we can’t seem to attract any big companies because the cities in the district lack the capability to attract a workforce. We need to focus on trades and training for individuals to improve their situation.
Accessibility to Healthcare - when it comes to anything other than emergency care at a hospital, folks don’t have anywhere to go for help with mental health, addiction, etc. We need to work with local governments to get resources to the people who need it most. A lot of my focus will be specifically related to rural communities.
Education is my top issue. We need to empower the Teachers Unions and bring some respect back to the job of being a teacher. Pay them more, give them the tools they need to do the job, and promise them a solid retirement and most of all…Let them teach!
Expansion of early voting and voting hours, ability to vote by mail without requiring an excuse, automatically register any eligible U.S. citizen voter when obtaining a state issued identification, independent redistricting commission
We need to incentivize it for farmers to invest in the time and resources to reduce runoff. I don’t believe there is a single farmer out there that wants to hurt the environment but they can’t afford to pay out of their own pockets to do it. If it is important to us as a state to keep our land safe. We should make the investment required.

To be an effective leader in listening to the voters concerns and acting providing results that make a difference in the future of our communities
Paid student teaching experiences (internships).
Reinstate the financial advantage of teachers receiving their Masters Degree.
Rate of pay study with surrounding States to justify if we are competitive.
I believe voter ID laws are important in insuring creditability in our elections.
Encourage participation with our youth in government to get those involved in the political process. I developed the Commissioners Mentoring Program that involves high school seniors participating in local government. Chairmen Mentoring program I developed several years ago that includes selected HS seniors on election day with county chair. I have worked with our HS seniors with the State Program Election Day Live which students work in the polls on election day and are paid. These programs I will be developing on a State wide level with Secretary of State Morales. I have also had provided voter registration with my Democrat County Chair at the local high schools. There is a lot of information out there by googling my name. Very important to me to get our youths involved in the voting process and find our future leaders.
Encourage our Healthy Rivers program that the State has been involved with. I will support programs that will increase our quality of drinking water and limit our runoff by containment, treatment or rate of flow that makes sense from a logical and financial perspective. I have managed small water utilities for over 25 years and have in past certifications of WT3 and DSL Water operator license. I have been involved with all types of water testing, overseeing compete operations from well, treatment to customer. Our Wabash Valley has some of the best quality water in the nation. Water rights will be a big issue coming up and my experience will prove very useful. Here in Vermillion County we have started the "Get the Lead Out Program" which will be coming out soon. Protecting our youths from lead concentrations in especially older homes is a concern of mine. Our program we are developing here in Vermillion County will be the Standard for other counties to follow is my opinion
