The most important challenge in the Borough of Netcong is to provide the very best services we can provide to our residents while keeping our tax increases in check to keep Netcong a SAFE and AFFORDABLE municipality to live and work. In order to do so, I will continue to engage our surrounding municipalities who we have SHARED SERVICES in place to continue lower residential costs for, Court Costs, Library Costs, Street Sweeping, Board of Health, Public Health Service, Building Office and Ambulance Services. To minimize the cost of our Street Resurfacing and Water Line replacement, I will continue to work with our borough engineer to obtain funding for the very expensive projects. Since becoming Mayor, I personally participated in acquiring HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars of Community Development Block Grant funds for or Senior Bus, our DWP Salt Shed, an Elevator for Fire Company #1, and for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of my Arbolino Park upgrade project. I will continue to fight hard for our residents to obtain every possible grant available that will ease the tax burden on our residents. I believe Netcong is a great, safe place to live. I assure the residents I will continue to make our municipal departments, our Police Department and Fire Departments the absolute very best to provide the services our residences and business deserve.
I am a Netcong resident for over thirty-nine years. Twenty-nine of those years, I worked in the Treasury department of a Fortune 100 Company where I was exposed to finance, accounting and the management of hundreds of band accounts. I was also responsible for managing a 5-million-dollar budget and a global team of Information Technology employees. During my thirty-nine years in Netcong, i spent 10 years on the Lake Musconetcong Regional Planning Board, the Environmental Committee and the Recreation Committee. I was a Councilman from January 2000 to 2006 where I spend 6 years on the Finance Committee, Public Safety Committee and the Department of Public Works. Since becoming the Mayor in March 2007, along with working very closely with our Borough Administrator, Clerk, Chief of Police and six Fire Department Chiefs, I spent many days in Trenton working with Commissioners from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, the NJ Department of Transportation and the NJ State Planning Boards. Along with those numerous trips to Trenton, I also spent many days and hours in Newark meeting with NJ Transit in discussion regarding our Transit Village. All of this experience along with degrees in Economics and Information Technology, allow me to provide valuable input in every meeting attend as Mayor on behalf of our residents.
