Transparency should be addressed through clear and concise communication in the form of town council meetings, updated website, and town council branded social media accounts, monthly mailers and canvassing by council members. 1. Mount Olive Town Council meeting minutes are essential for record keeping by law specifically the Open Public Meeting Act. With that said, doing the basic minimum by law is not acceptable to residents interested in learning and understanding exactly what was discussed, tone, energy and overall disposition of the town council meeting. I made a recommendation of investing in Livestream, which is a real time video platform that residents could view, live during the town council meeting. The Livestream function can be beneficial for working parents, young adults, the elderly, people with disabilities and any other resident that is interested in what’s going on in the town and would like to have input.
o In my opinion, the key skill sets you need to hold public office is integrity, creativity, leadership and most importantly customer service. My career is built on public service through 8 years in the military and 7 years in the behavioral health sector • I served honorably in the NJ National Guard with deployments to Iraq, U.S. Border and Flood Missions throughout NJ. Within each area of operations I received numerous awards recognition for my ability to communicate and team work such as: • I developed the first mobile app in the Apple and Android market that provided resources to veterans. With over 20k downloads, I received “Best App” award from AT&T, NJ Tech Council and Princeton University • Testified in front of both Republican and Democratic sub-committee on Health on how to utilize technology to help veterans • I currently work in the capacity of Marketing and Communications for various state and national populations that provides peer support for Caregiver, Special Needs Children, Veterans and Opioid Addictions As a Councilman in Mount Olive, I would continue to be an advocate for our residents.

Our current government does not recognize that climate change is a serious problem that requires changes at all levels of government.. To protect our environment and our future, we need to save our natural resources and reduce our society’s carbon footprint. Programs and materials would be developed to educate and motivate the community to make changes that will improve our environment and fight climate change. In addition, I would focus on enhancing and increasing our Open Space, promoting sustainable development and using renewable energy sources.

Our Democracy was built on a system of checks and balances to ensure a just and fair government. A local government ruled by only one party is at risk of making mistakes and promoting improper behavior. The bulk of the township’s 31 million dollar annual budget is funded by taxpayers. The taxpayers should have a say in where the money goes and be confident that every cent is accounted for and that the programs being funded are run efficiently. Having political balance and diversity will challenge and help our government leaders grow and improve.

Citizen engagement and communication needs improvement. Residents should know about the Committees that advise our Town Council and the meeting dates need to be posted on the website and all social media platforms. We should recognize and support our current volunteers since they are the lifeblood of the community.

My professional background includes launching and running a successful small business with my husband. Their business beat the odds and served local customers for 28 years until my husband’s retirement in 2018. In addition, my 22 years of experience working in the Payroll/Human Resources Department of Ronetco Supermarkets, has prepared me to address personnel and contract issues brought before Town Council.

My community building skills were first developed by volunteering in the school, scouting and sports activities of my three children. When the Mount Olive Recreation Department sent me a petition written by two sixth grade girls requesting a recreational volleyball program in May of 2000, I was ready to step up and lead. The first season started in April 2001 with 47 players in two leagues. A strong foundation was built by instituting a coach training program, Codes of Conduct and Bylaws. Mount Olive Volleyball Association now serves over 200 players and continues to fulfill its mission of teaching volleyball and good sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment.

I am excited to put my experience and strong love of community to work as a member of the Mount Olive Town Council. My 39 years spent as a Mount Olive taxpayer, parent, small business owner, and community activist will bring a unique perspective and strong set of competencies to the Town Council. I would be honored to serve the people of Mount Olive.

Major Challenges in our town are:

Environment : We need to address the issue of climate change at all levels of government . To protect our environment and our future, we need to save our natural resources and reduce our society’s carbon footprint. Natural Areas like Budd Lake are not taken care: We will clean the lake and establish budd lake as public recreation area.

Transparency, Checks & Balances: Increase the accessibility of the Mount Olive Township Website so that information regarding all current resolutions being addressed by the Town Council are easily accessible to the public. Monthly mailers to residents that outline all of the approved, pending and controversial resolutions addressed by the council that month. Checks and balances in local government are important because same ensures that there are proper procedures working to increase oversight, prevent improper behavior and decrease the risk of overly centralized power in government.

Taxes: We are the second higher tax payers in the county. Mount Olive has become unaffordable by the working and the middle class so we can see people are leaving the town and moving to other affordable places.

Voice for renters: We will explore the options of forming a Renters Committee or the appointment of a Renters Ombudsman to investigate and resolve complaints.
My experience of Manager along with Engineering background makes me a suitable candidate for this office. My skills will help me getting the jobs done on time and within the set budget. I believe now its the time to get the new ideas to the town.Along with my running mates I believe we will bring the positive changes to the town which is required. My belief in having faith in those with whom you choose to support is an important factor in achieving shared objectives and successes.
