Qualifications for Office I have lived in the borough for over 15 years. I have a vested interest in the borough raising 7 kids here. I have also been teaching in the borough for over 15 years. I am the Math Department Chair at JTL for the 4th year. I am the advisor for Builder's Club (Kiwanis for Middle School) for the 5th year. I am organized and I have knowledge of technology tools needed to update our borough's communications with the residents. I am a small business owner, was PTO president and a girl scout leader, as well as a Gold Award Girl Scout (highest award in Girl Scouting).
I want to represent borough residents ensuring that their needs are met such as, having better communication between council members and residents. Some examples of effective and simplistic forms of communication which could include, but would not be limited to, live streaming of the meetings, posting agendas prior to meetings, make improvements to the website to create a more user friendly experience that has all pertinent information available and updated on a regular basis. Because social media is a main form of communication for localities, having presence on Facebook and Twitter would be a priority. I would like to update some of the forms of communication between the board and the residents, by using technology and social media. I would also like to have more involvement from the residents, allowing their voices to be heard and for them to feel they can come to the council and feel that they are listening. We are a community of many and we must ensure we are working together.
