Educational background Attended St. Joseph School, Manistee, Mi. Obtained a GED from the State of Michigan. Graduated from West Shore College. Attended many schools and seminares over the years.
Occupation/Current Position Retired in 2018.
I was born in Manistee, and lived here most of my life. I attended St. Joseph School and then moved out of town for a few years. When I returned to Manistee I worked at Mercy Community Hospital. I was asked by City Police officers to apply for a position with them. I was hired in 1967 and was employed for thirty three and a half years. I was then hired by the Tribal Police for eighteen years and I have just retired. My experiences with working with many of the people who were in office and understanding the problems there were and attending many meetings I decided that I would like to try to be involved. Being very few seem to want to get into politics, it was a good chance for me to learn. There are many organizations that are interesting to work with and many problems to solve.
Being I have been on the city council for two years and have been involved in voting on many issues I find that a big problem in Manistee is affordable Housing for Professional people and young people moving here. The second problem we are always trying to work on is the Budget. Both these problems are a constant consideration when we meet and how to get many groups to work on them.A lot of organizations rely on the City Budget to maintain their groups and it takes a lot of discussion to figure out what can be given and who is most suited for the funding.

Educational background Severed on the Zoning Board of Appeals, current Chair of the Planning Commission and twice elected 6th District Councilman, Also I have continued my certification in the Citizen Planner Program through Michigan State University,
Occupation/Current Position Currently working with Manistee Boat Builders in a administrative role.
My experience working with the City of Manistee is having served on the Zoning Board of Appeal for 8 years, 6 years on the Planning Commission with the past 3 years as Chair of the PC. I was elected and served 2 terms as Councilman for the 6th District for the City of Manistee. Also I have continued my certification in the Citizen Planner Program through Michigan State University for each year on the ZBA and Planning Commission. My reason for running again for the 6th District seat is simple, I want to help bring more prosperity and growth to the City of Manistee and County.
The top priorities for the City of Manistee that I would like to address is continuing to upgrade the infrastructure and streets. How to accomplish this is finding funding through the budget, grant programs and possibly corporate donations or sponsorship.

My second priority is Blight, I believe we have a blight issue with vacant lots, houses and commercial buildings that have not been properly addressed. The Blight Ordinances have to be tightened up and I will work with the proper departments and committees to accomplish this goal.
