Job description: The Magisterial District Judge handles traffic violations, landlord/tenant matters, civil claims (except claims against a Commonwealth party as defined by section 8501, relating to definitions), wherein the sum demanded does not exceed $12,000 exclusive of interest and costs, and preliminary hearings in criminal cases. Magisterial District Judges who are not lawyers must complete a course of instruction and pass an exam before taking office. TERM 4 YEARS. SALARY $91,597.00. VOTE FOR ONE.
