The WaterOne Board is a policy governance board. Our duty is to assure that our customers have safe, plentiful and economical water delivered to them, while being good stewards of our budget responsibilities and the environment. The Board, develops policy to follow a Master Plan to best represent the long term goals of our Water District. Parts of the Plan that are critical projects or areas of emphasis are: 1, The development of green or renewable energy from hydroelectric generation and other clean energy sources. Placing a hydroelectric generator at our facility can convert river flow to usable electric power. 2. Develop automatic meter reading to serve our customers with real time information. 3. Enhance our water treatment processes with ozone disinfection to improve taste and odor issues in addition to saving costs for chemicals and other treatments. This is a proactive technology to remove emerging contaminants.
I am an engineer by education. I am a sales representative by vocation. My 40+ years of working in the water industry uniquely qualifies me with experiences from the municipal/engineering/construction fields. I have the competency to explain and understand technical subjects and interpret them for the general public’s needs. My 3+ years on the board has enabled WaterOne to benefit from my industry knowledge and expertise concerning what is best for our customers, based upon sound engineering principles and cost effective analysis. As a member of the WaterOne Board, I feel that I am contributing public service to my community. Everyone needs safe and affordable water. That is my most important responsibility.
