My main priority is to have a working relationship with the Planning Commission and citizens to manage growth according to our Comprehensive Plan. I support our residential and commercial growth to be paced at a reasonable rate to ensure that funds for infrastructure and facilities are in place to accommodate the growth. I plan to highly prioritize commercial growth that will be the right kind to complement our neighborhoods and generate jobs that will contribute to our tax base.
Yes, I support funding for improvements of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in the County. I supported funding because pedestrian and bicycle trails are excellent sources to promote healthy, active lifestyles while fostering self-sufficiency and quality of life for our citizens and visitors. Living in an older community, pedestrian and bicycle trails are not common. As Supervisors we have included trails in our parks to accommodate our citizens from all communities.
I would support Housing Counseling programs and workshops to provide citizens with information on, renting, homebuyer education, credit issues, financial literacy training, default mortgage, foreclosure prevention and predatory lending workshops. Once our new Beulah Elementary Community Center is completed I hope to start workshops via Parks and Recreation.
Important issues are Public Safety, Education and Transportation. I supported additional funding for first responders needs and key road projects. School funding can be supported with additional funding. Another issue is the care and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities. I remain diligent to replace or renovate older homes, facilities and schools in Dale.
