The most important challenge in the Borough is addressing the tax rate base. My high priority is to work with Garden Properties who are the owners of the Rustic Mall. This was currently a super fund site and has been vacate for some twenty years. My vision for this site would be to develop an apartment complex and medical offices connected to our local hospital facilities.

My personal and professional experience is that I currently serve on the governing body and was formerly employed by the Borough as the Director of Public Works and Municipal Clerk.

I would address these challenges by working with the Governing body and relying on the expertise of our paid professionals and help from our County and State Legislatures.
I would make it attractive to the developer of the property and have our paid professionals assist in helping the process along.
First of all, how do you define safe? Your always going to have incidents in the system. Coordination with our local Police Force and the Superintendent of Schools play an important part in formulation of rules and regulation to comply with State, County and Local government.

Periodic fire drills, school evacuation and lock down depending of the situation. Our current Superintendent and Police Department already have this in place.
