Qualifications for office My research and practice involve managing people, technology, and policies in order to support innovation in response to complex system challenges. For my postdoctoral work at the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh I developed science curriculum that used guided discovery through engineering design to teach science concepts for grades 6 – 12 in Pittsburgh as well as in 5 major school districts in the U.S. I also conducted analytical studies of school district performance using systems analysis, publishing multiple peer-reviewed articles on these topics.
District Pine-Richland School District
My main objectives are to:

1. Elevate the core values of PRSD: To focus on learning for every student every day. 2. Set the district’s direction with performance-based goals, ensuring an alignment of strategies, resources (including the approved budget), policies, programs and processes. 3. Assess and account for student achievement using comprehensive data, thorough deliberation and open communication while holding the administration accountable to performance goals.
Pubic education is the foundation for a healthy democracy. Our society is built upon the ability of our citizens and residents to engage in the process of self-governance. All residents of the Commonwealth of PA deserve access to a robust public education, with equal access and support for all students in order to fulfill the demands for a healthy democracy and for building a foundation for access to opportunities for healthy, prosperous communities.
I believe that more programs to support early childhood learning are beneficial for children as well as supporting families with increasingly more demanding work schedules. I believe that learning can only happen if children are supported with a system of health and wellness and that engages children across multiple dimensions in early learning environments, which can establish a community where each member feels valued, belongs, has an opportunity to participate, and is respected.
