Transparency-There is zero communication in regards to the reasoning in decision making in our district or even the costs associated with them. We owe it to our taxpayers to be upfront about what’s going on.
Education-I want the sole focus of our board to return to the educational needs of our students.
Community-My involvement in our community has enabled me to have an understanding of what our kids are lacking, what security measures need addressed in our buildings and what our teachers are facing and tasked with on a daily basis. I intend to continue my role in taking a vested interest in the future of our kids.
My scope as a school board member limits my ability to impact social and racial justice for all citizens, since my charge is to guide policy and decision making for educating our children. For me,the focus of this office is to not only ensure a safe environment, with classes that benefit all of the learning abilities of the children in our district, but to build a better community as a whole.
Early education is imperative to the success of a student. Head Start and Pre-K Counts programs have shown to be the cornerstone foundation of learning in young children.Quality pre-kindergarten prepares children for reading and math, but also for paying attention, following directions and getting along with others. These programs help a child grow both academically and socially and are the beginnings of a strong education.
